• Lunch: The lunch option will cover all three days and will include a vegetarian wrap or sandwich, soft drinks, coffee, tea, milk, and plant-based milk. Vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly options are available but must be booked in advance.   • Pre-conference Moesgaard guided tour – Illerup Ådal (Wednesday 20 May, 10:45–11:45):Guided tour of the permanent exhibition presenting the finds from the site of Illerup Ådal.
  • Pre-conference Moesgaard guided tour – Iron Age (Wednesday 20 May, 11:45–12:45): Guided tour of the permanent Iron Age exhibition.
  • Pre-conference Moesgaard lecture + reception (Wednesday 20 May, 15:30–18:00): This option will include the lecture ‘Rome in Iron Age Denmark: Discoveries and State of Research’ by Xenia Pauli Jensen in the museum auditorium, followed by a reception featuring wine, soft drinks, and nibbles at the university campus located downhill from the museum.

   Important information: All guided tours at the Moesgaard Museum will be led by museum curators and will take place simultaneously, with overlapping time slots around lunchtime. For this reason, each attendee may book only one tour. Each tour lasts approximately one hour and has a maximum capacity of 20 participants. The tours may be combined with the lecture and reception later in the afternoon, which have a maximum capacity of 200 participants.

  Please note that the price of guided tours does not include general admission to the museum. Participants booking a guided tour must also purchase a separate museum ticket (at the reduced rate of 160 DKK).
  If you only want to visit the museum collections (both permanent and temporary exhibitions), tickets can be purchased online or at the museum shop at the standard price.

  Admission to the museum is free for students of Archaeology or Anthropology at Aarhus University and the University of Copenhagen, as well as Marine Archaeology students at SDU. Please bring a valid student ID and a photo ID.

  • Post-conference excursion to Jelling (Sunday 24 May, 8:00–17:00): This full-day excursion will include a tour of the site of Jelling and the associated museum (with an introductory presentation and a visit of the exhibition), a tour of the Vejle Museum, transportation by reserved bus from and back to Aarhus, and lunch at a local country inn. Attendees may register for this excursion until it reaches full capacity (70 participants).
